We love him, because he first loved us (1 John 4.19). Just imagine the devastation and sorrow we would have on this earth if we didn’t have God’s love to sustain us. It would be infinitely worthless to be alive. Feel so blessed to know this piece of truth and to continue learning how to have God’s love with the guidance of His spirit, His church and chosen leaders.
Even though the Atonement is a gift; it is a gift well worth working on having.
When we look at finding faults in ourselves and others; we will indefinitely find faults with ourselves and others. Fault finding separates ourselves with those we love and with those things we believe in. Tolerance and acceptance can be an antidote to this self destructive way of thinking. “Live so that you will not have any fault with yourselves, and never mind the faults of your brethren, for each person has enough of his own to attend to.”
(Brigham Young, Developing Christlike Attitudes toward Others)
A good reminder that we are all men and women of great worth, none greater or less to the Lord. This certainly helps me know of humility, and also not allowing what other’s inabilities to see my worth is for me. Grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ for teaching this truth.
“Let people grow. Believe that people can change and improve. Is that faith? Yes! Is that hope? Yes! Is it charity? Yes! Above all, it is charity, the pure love of Christ.” –Jeffrey R. Holland
Making mistakes is a part of mortality. Part of finding true joy is learning to forgive others and forgive yourself. Don’t let a misstep or misunderstanding get in the way of your happy ending.
A sword or a cest pool. To me it has many meanings but I like that it could mean that our words give God the permission to work through us or give the adversary permission to work through us. Whatever it’s meaning, its nothing short of the teachings of Jesus Christ. To give focus on using the sword also means to me that our heartfelt prayers can allow the angels come and fight for us, and to never think our prayers, our worship, praise, and tears don’t do anything. The Lord listens, and assists us if we continually use his word, speak his word, and do His word. Amen to that!!
